Prices, Payment & Deposits
What is the average hire price?
One night hire is £25 for a complete adult costume which includes accessories such as hats, shoes, beads, gloves, bags, masks etc. Wigs are £3 extra to hire if required. Large furry animal costumes are £28. For more information please see our Hire Prices page.
How long can I hire the costume for?
Up to two weeks, the hire charge increases at a rate of £1 per extra night.
Can you post a costume out to me?
Sorry, no. Costumes must be collected and returned in person.
I want to book a costume…what information do you need from me?
We take a name, address and telephone number and list all the items that you are hiring on a receipt which we ask you to sign. You be asked to read the terms and conditions (see below) and will be given a copy with your receipt.
How can I pay?
You can pay by cash or card. Payment is required at the time of booking.
Do you require a deposit?
A security deposit of £50 is required per costume as security to cover loss, damage or non-return. This can be taken in one of 3 ways:
Imprint of a bank card (withheld & destroyed on return of costume)
Cheque (withheld & destroyed on return of costume)
Cash (returned to you at an appropriate time)
What if I need to cancel my costume hire?
If you need to cancel your costume please call us. 50% of the hire cost is refundable up to 3 days (72hrs) prior to the date of hire. (If less than 3 days notice is given, no refund will be given) .
What do you stock?
What kind of outfits do you hire?
We have about 1000 costumes from historical through to modern day, Film, TV, Music and Cartoon characters. Take a look at the ‘Lists’ page for more information. All accessories such as hats, shoes, beads, gloves, bags, masks etc. are included with your outfit.
Can I just hire part of an outfit?
Yes, individual items are priced separately; a pair of boots for example would be £8 to hire on their own.
Do you sell costumes or accessories?
We do not sell costumes or wigs; we just have a small selection of glasses, moustaches, face paint and hairspray for sale.
Do you stock any children’s costumes?
Generally no, although we do keep a nice range of Victorian and 1940’s children’s outfits.
Do I have to wash my costume?
No, we wash and iron all the costumes after every hire ourselves.
Appointments and Opening Hours
Why do I have to make an appointment?
By booking an appointment time we are able to provide a more personal service to help you to find the best costume within our range to fit your requirements. The business is based within our home and we make appointments to fit around our childcare arrangements.
How long does an appointment last?
We try to allow 30 minutes between appointments, customers sometimes arrive early or late, appointments sometimes overrun and it is also necessary, on occasion, to book two appointments at the same time. You are under no obligation to choose a costume within a certain time and we aim to help you as quickly and efficiently as possible.
What are your opening hours?
We aim to provide available appointments every day (Mon-Sat) either morning/ afternoon or evening. Please call to arrange a suitable time.
When can I collect and return my costume?
You can collect and return anytime between 9am and 8pm Mon-Sun (no appointment necessary!)
I have never hired an outfit before: how does it work?
When you call to make your appointment we will give you directions on how to find us. When you arrive we will ask if you have a theme, show you a list of options within that theme and allow you time to look through an album of photographs if you wish. You can then try costumes on and we will supply you with all the necessary accessories to go with your chosen outfit.
